CDC Director said face masks are better than COVID-19 vaccine

U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention Director said on Wednesday that face masks are better than COVID-19 vaccine, and they may even provide a better protection than COVID-19 vaccine ever could.

Speaking a Senate hearing on the federal COVID-19 response, Center for Disease Control and Prevention Director said if all Americans embraced face masks for six to 12 weeks they would bring the COVID-19 pandemic under control.

"I'm not going to comment directly about the president, but I am going to comment as the CDC Director that, these face masks are the most important powerful public health tool we have," Mr. Redfield said.

"These actually, we have clear scientific evidence they work, and they are our best defense. I might even go far as to say this face mask is more guaranteed to protect me against COVID-19, than when I take a COVID-19."

Redfield explained that a potential COVID-19 vaccine may only have an immune response 70% of the time that protects a person against the Coronavirus.

If I don’t get an immune response, the vaccine’s not going to protect me. This face mask will, Redfield said while holding up his face mask.

Mr Redfield, however, said at the hearing on Wednesday that he appealed foe all the people of American to take individual responsibility and embrace the face coverings.

So he advised the American Public to take the responsibility, particularly the 18-25-yer-olds.
