China has reported 99 new COVID19 cases , the highest in a single day in recent weeks after the first wave of pandemic and 63 fresh asymptomatic taking the total number of COVID19 patients in the country to 82,052 , health officials reported on Saturday , amid concerns about a second wave of pandemic in China .
As of Saturday according to China's National Health Commission a total of 1,280 imported COVID19 cases were reported in China . Of the 1280cases 36 in severe condition, 799 were being treated and 481 had been discharged from hospital.
On Saturday it is said 99 new COVID19 positive cases were found among which 97 were people returning from abroad.
Also on the mainland 63 new asymptomatic cases including 12 from abroad were reported on Saturday . China's National Health Commission said 1.086 asymptomatic cases including 332 from abroad were still under observation.
Asymptomatic cases refer to patients tested positive for COVID19 but develop no symptoms such as soar throat, cough or fever . They pose a risk of spreading virus to others .
On Saturday, Mi Fang a NHC spokesperson asked the public to avoid gatherings and strengthen protective measures after cluster infections of the COVID19 were reported in some parts of the country.
The COVID19 cases are on the rise as hundreds of Chinese National held up in different countries affected by COVID19 have returned to the China with the help of Chinese government.
Those Chinese returnees are being screened before shifting them to 14days quarantine facilities.
The overall COVID19 confirmed cases on the mainland had reached 82.052 by Saturday. Including 77,575 people discharge after recovery , 1.138 positive people still being treated and 3,339 people died of COVID19.
The NHC said 1,000 confirmed COVID19 cases including 4 deaths had been reported in Hongkong, 385 confirmed cases in Taiwan including 6 deaths and 45 positive cases in Macao by Saturday.
NHC also said 336 patients in Hongkong, 99 in Taiwan and 10 in Macao had been discharged from hospital after recovery.
