China reports five asymptomatic cases

Beijing, May 29 China has reported five new asymptomatic Coronavirus cases, taking the total number of infections to 409, while no new confirmed COVID19 case was recorded in the country, chinese health officials said on Friday,

No new suspected COVID19 cases or deaths related to the Coronavirus were reported on Thursday, Chinese National Health Commission said.

Five new asymptomatic COVID19 cases were reported in China on Thursday, it said.

The 409 asymptomatic COVID19 cases, including 337 in the COVID19 epicentre wuhan, were still under medical observation.

Asymptomatic COVID19 cases pose a problem as the patients test positive for Coronavirus but develop no symptoms such as sore throat, cough or fever.

However they pose a risk of spreading the virus to others.

As of Thursday, China has a total of 82,995 confirmed COVID19 positive cases and the death toll remained at 4,634, the National Health Commission reported.
