An Indian Professor has claimed to develop a major software which can detect COVID19 within 5 seconds using x-ray scan of the suspected person . IITs all over the India are conducted researchers and developing medical equipments in order to fight the COVID19 pandemic . Many Institutions have been trying to generate PPE kits and ventilators for doctors amid the Coronavirus lockdown .
Professor Kamal Jain from IIT Roorkee's Civil Engineering department took over 40 days to develop the novel software . He claims that the software will reduce the exposure risk to the healthcare workers and also reduce the testing costs . He has applied a patent for his software and has approached the Indian Council of Medical Research for it's review .
Though , there is no verification of his claim by a medical institution .
Professor Mr Jain was quoted as saying , I first established an Artificial Intelligence based database beside analysing over 60k x-ray scans including those of tuberculosis, pneumonia and COVID19 patients to differentiate between the kind of chest congestion suffered in the 3 disease . I also analysed the chest x-ray database of the United state's National Institute of Health Care System .
He also said that using the software developed by him , Doctors can simply upload picture of any suspected person's x-ray . The software not only classify whether the suspect has any sign of pneumonia but also to indicate whether it is due to other bacteria or COVID19 and can measure severity of the case . The results can be obtained within 5 seconds .

According to the Professor this software can help in accurate preliminary screening of the patient which can decide whether the COVID19 positive need to go further screening .
The professor said that the pneumonia caused by COVID19 virus is more severe than other bacteria as it affects the lungs completely whereas in other cases in smaller portions of the lungs . The software has ability to analyse bilateral opacity , pattern of fluid build up in lungs and nature of clot or clump if any .
