United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday accused China of stealing United states data and other properties related to Coronavirus research.
Mr Mike Pompeo's allegation on China came a day after the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security claimed that the US organisation conducting research into Coronavirus may be targeted by Chinese government's computer hackers.
The United States condemns attempts by the cyber attackers and non traditional collectors affiliated with People's Republic of China to steal United States Intellectual property and data related to Coronavirus reserach, Mike Pompeo mentioned in a statement.
The United States authority calls on People's Republic of China to cease this kind of malicious activity, Mr Pompeo also added that theft of this information jeopardises the delivery of effective, secure and efficient treatment options.
On Thurday China termed as slanderous the U.S. accusation that the chinese hackers backed by Beijing may be trying to hack the COVID19 related research and vaccine information and said that scapegoating and smearing others will not make the Coronavirus go away.
Zhan Lijian chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said United States officials are trying to shift the blame on Bejing as they struggled to handle the COVID19 pandemic back home.
The United States allegations have raised the tensions between the two nation, which are already on engaged in a war of words over the origin of the COVID19 that has killed more than 300,000 people globally. Mr Mike Pompeo claims that the China's behaviour in Cyberspace is an extesion of it's counterproductive actions thoughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Pompeo also said while the United States and it's allies are coordinating a collective and transparent response to save lives from this pandemic, China continues to silence Journalists, Scientists, and citizens and to spread disinformation, which has exacerbated the dangers of this pandemic.
