Pakistan surpasses China in Coronavirus cases

Pakistan on Thursday surpassed China, the epicentre of COVID19, after a record of 4,688 new COVID19 positive cases were reported during the last 24hrs to take the tally to 85,246.

According to the data of Johns Hopkins University, China with it's 84,160 COVID19 patients has been placed at 18th position, one step lower than Pakistan.

On Thursday, the Ministry of National Health Services said till now Pakistan has witnessed the deaths of 1,770 COVID19 positive patients, including 82 in the last 24 hours.

Pakistan has registered 4,688 new COVID19 cases during the period, the highest in a single day, the ministry said. Another 30,128 patients had recovered.

Pakistan occupied Kahmir so far reported 285 cases of COVID19, Gilgit Baltistan 824, Islamabad 3,544, Balochistan 5,224, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwab 11,373, Punjab 31,104, Sindh reported 32,910 cases of the viral disease.

On the positive side a record 20,167 COVID19 tests were accomplished in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID19 tests conducted so far to 615,511.

As the number of Coronavirus infections continue to go up. Asad Umar minister for planning said an effective media campaign is being launched across the nation to educate and create awareness among the people for voluntary compliance of Standard Operating Procedures.
