Coronavirus tests which could detect the virus withi 90 minutes would be soon started in the United Kingdom, the country's health ministry has confirmed.
Coronavirus tests which would be launched in hospitals and laboratories aim to increase the COVID-19 testing in the country.
These new COVID-19 tests will reportedy comprise of 5.8 million which would use DNA and 4,50,000 other which would involve swab tests. The National Health Service has announced that it would be offering COVID-19 friendly treatment to patients. Around 5,000 machines will provide 5,8 million tests in the coming month, the health ministry said.
United Kingdom Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that these 90 minute tests could effectively detect both flu as Coronavirus infections adding that it could prove beneficial in the upcoming winter. He also described these new innovations in COVID-19 testing as "life-saving".
He also added, "millions of new 90 minutes Coronavirus tests will provide on the spot reports in just 90 minutes, helping us to break the Coronavirus transmission chain quickly."
The COVID-19 pandemic has infected 304,695 and killed 46,202 in the United Kingdom.
